Split Ends: Krisanna Conrad and Shauna Raisch
Will a spoiled stylist be able to work in a professional salon for someone other than her mom?
What a schedule the Style Network has! TPTB have released two new episodes of Split Ends, the show that sends two polar opposite stylists to each others salon. This episode premiered May 10.
I Don’t Wanna Shauna
Shauna owns Twiggs, in a Minneapolis suburb featuring $165 razor cuts. David is her nephew and Gucci is her dog. Normally, the pet wouldn’t matter, but in Shauna’s case….
Shauna is a perfectionist.
No fat people can work in her salon, no one can look like a slut. Shauna, when she receives her letter, says she never heard of good hairdresser in Arizona ( many people have never heard of a good hairdresser in Minnesota, but I digress) When she arrives, she thinks Melissa and Company, in a strip mall in Goodyear , Arizona, is low end and tacky. She and Gucci are greeted by Melissa.
Melissa and her staff do not want the dog in the salon. They graciously offer to find a dogsitter. Shauna absolutely refuses. They put the dog in another room at the salon.
The Test:
Her client wants hair extensions. Turns out Melissa makes some sort of extensions using double-sided tape.
Shauna has a hard time using the extensions. When the client asks for pink extensions, Shauna absolutely refuses.
Later, Melissa tells her she fails test because she did not listen to her client. Shauna gets angry and tells Melissa that her hair extensions suck!
The entire staff laughs as she storms out…… carrying Gucci and his shit.
Day Two
One of the employees (Lorraine?) takes Shauna to breakfast to clear the air.
No air is cleared, but she somehow manages to leave Gucci (and his shit) behind at her hotel.
A seven year old girl is the first client. Shauna doesn’t want to do a child’s hair. But she doesn’t absolutely refuse. She won’t really interact with the child’s mother, but she does put the requested pink extensions in the child’s hair.
Are we missing something with the pink extensions, or is this an Arizona thing and we wouldn’t understand?
Veronica is her next client. More extensions……this salon needs to be listed in Haireality’s Directory. She doesn’t do a very good job.
Takeover Day
First, she holds a largely ignored meeting.
The final exam: She works her way with the client, emphasizing face shape. She does a great job, but the staff pays her no attention.
Shauna learned nothing…of course, she absolutely refused to do so.

Whinin’ Krisanna
Krisanna is the 21 year old daughter of Lorraine at Melissa and Company.
She just finished beauty school, and her primary goal in life is to be in Playboy.
David, Shauna’s nephew, greets her and says she looks trashy.
TEST
Razor cuts are very important at Shauna’s salon, so this is Krisanna’s first test. She practically chops her finger in half.
When she is done, David and Chris, one of the employees, decide it is done wrong, and Chris does it over.
They are very snippy with her, and Kris comes right back at them.
Day 2
Krisanna doesn’t want to bleach a clients hair after coloring it, and storms out of the shop. She calls mother and won’t come back in.
Takeover Day
Krisanna brings bunny ears for everyone to try to lighten the mood in this museum-like place. She even brings a mesh shirt for David (can you imagine to look on Shauna’s face when she sees this?)
For her final exam, she does another razor cut, but this time David teaches her and she does it well.
In the end, she feels she learned some good skills.
